In my personal opinion mesmer is a better secondary for a MM
also you want to spend most points in Death Magic and Soul Reaping
(and you can't have 20 points in any attribute).

My MM skills:
1. Healing Breeze
2. Heal Area
3. Blood of the Master
4. Animate Bone Fiend
5. Animate Vampiric Horror
6. Animate Flesh Golem [Elite]
7. [Empty] Cap Sig or something
8. Rebirth
Attributes:
16 Death (12 + 1 scar pattern + 3 rune)
10 Sould Reaping (9 + 1 rune)
rest in healing
Basicly 4 and 5 are both animate skills so I can bang off one after the other, getting the number of minions I control up, vampiric horror also has a fairly long recharge. I prefer these minions because they are stronger than horrors or minions.
10 in soul reaping is enough to give you decent energy management.
Once you get up to 10 minions, or dont have any more corpses, continue to use blood of the master followed by heal area. (but dont go mental, try and save around 15 energy incase someone dies and you want to raise a minon)
Oh, and I have Ghials staff which gives a chace for faster casting and recharge on death magic, and remember to wear the boots which target corpses faster.

I use Ranger as my secondary profession so I can use Troll Unguent as it was healing breeze and spam Blood of the Master to heal my minions
The difference is that you can have a weak pet and get it killed fast so you can raise a golem or any other minion w/o needing any corpse at all. Plus you can rebirth the pet with 10% healt and get it killed again to have an infinite spawn source

You can remove VS if you want to cap.
This is the build I run, and it works for me.

My bar looks like:
1. Optional (damage of some kind)
2. Flesh Golem [e]
3. Bone Fiend
4. Bone Horror
5. Blood of the Master
6. Taste of Death
7. Taste of Pain
8. Heal Area / Blood Ritual / Res
I never take vampiric horrors because the energy cost is too high and the recharge too slow. The bone horror is there to keep the bodies flowing while energy is low or bone fiend is still recharging.
Taste of death is there for a quick save if things get too dicey. It's also useful to sac the golem while you're healing everything else and then make a fresh golem.
Taste of pain is a good self-heal if you can manage it carefully.
One of the tastes could be swapped out for verrata's sacrifice if you carry heal area, but I still like to have a quick self-heal if your monk is a little busy.
BR is always appreciated by your casters, and for situations where you absolutely need to have a res, it can go in place of br or in place of the damage.

Well, lets start with you sharing the secret of getting DM to 20 and BM to 20, all the while having skill points to spend in HP. Reminds me to point out that if you need HP to be a good MM, you need to learn to play Necro better. Blood Renewal or Demonic Flesh in combo with Dark Bond can keep you nice and healthy all the while BotM is all you ever need to heal your minions. Oh and use Soul Reaping (doh) and OoB if you go for expensive summons.

I think he means how many attribute points he has in those attributes, not the level of the attribute.

Sadly that can't be right either.
Twenty? Thats so low. I think its just from memory as to what was the last amount of points into the attributes. Max is 97 per attribute, so 20 seems so low.
97+97+6 = 200

as for getting to 20 it is possible for 1 attribute only not sure bout 2
if u use AtB u can bring curses or blood to 18 - but not death - then if u have a wand and focus both w/ +1 curse or blood mod on it u can get 20 if both 20% chance kick in but small chance of it though but nice if it did

basicly echo bone horrors so u can start making em left and right after u get the flesh golem and vamp gaze for self heal after using BoTM - makes it a bit easer on monks and ToD for a quik heal if things start goin bad and of course br for the eles and monks

Actually, what I believe the OP is looking at is the number "20" that is inside the "down arrow" beside the actual rank of the skill in question.

Some sort of ressurection.
Max out Death Magic, raise Soul Reaping to at least 10, dump the rest of the points into Blood Magic to make Dark Bond easier to manage.
Make sure you've got Bloostained Boots (ick!).
